Faith Emrick

Faith (Yoo) Emrick, 85, of Manchester, formerly of East Hartford, beloved wife of Robert E. Emrick, passed away peacefully at home Friday, March 30, 2018 with her family at her side. Faith and Robert recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Faith was affectionately known as "Gramma Peep". She was born October 26, 1932 in Hartford, daughter of the late John and Bertha (Bogli) Yoo and had been a resident of Manchester since 1984. She worked at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center East Hartford for 27 years, retiring as Director of Volunteer Services and also, volunteered at Glastonbury VNA Hospice and East Hartford VNA Hospice. Faith was a former Eucharistic Minister at St. James Church and was a communicant at St. Bartholomew Church. Her family gives special thanks to the caregivers of Heavens Hands of Glastonbury and Vitas Hospice Services of Glastonbury for their compassionate care to Faith. In addition to her husband, Faith is survived by a son, Daniel R. Emrick of Bloomfield, a daughter, Joanne M. Emrick of North Carolina, a brother, Robert Yoo of Rocky Hill, four sisters, Ruth Kurth of Salem, CT, Eleanor Alm of Windsor Locks, Joyce Yoo of East Hartford and Linda Moses of Anchorage, AK, six grandchildren, Kimberly, Noah, Jordan, Tia, Drew, Evan and several nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers and a sister. Family and friends may call at Holmes - Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester, CT on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Saturday April 7, 2018 at 10:30am at Parish of Saint Teresa of Calcutta, St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Following the funeral mass everyone is invited to a reception to be held in Fr. Hussey Hall at the church. Burial will be private in East Cemetery.
