Eva Post

Eva T. Post went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2021, surrounded by her family. Mom was born to the late Ernest and Laura Plourde of Eagle Lake, ME on June 24, 1934. Mom had eight brothers: Edford, Eddie, Pete, Roland, Camille, Al, Leo, and Babe (all preceded her in death) and four sisters Edna Soucier of Presque Isle, ME and Alice Martin of Tolland, CT, with two younger sisters, Annie and Annette, preceding her in death. Mom Graduated from FT Kent High School, FT Kent, ME. In 1953 she met the love of her life, Edmund T. Post of Hartford CT, and upon returning from his tour of duty in Korea, they were married. Eventually they settled in Marlborough, CT, where they raised 4 boys: Wayne, Gregory, Bruce and Douglas. Eva is survived by Wayne and his wife Karen of Plainview, TX, Gregory and his wife Rosalie of Baird, TX, Bruce and his wife Donna of Orange, CT, and Douglas now of Gore, OK. Ed and Eva eventually moved to Coventry, CT. In 1961 mom and dad were charter members of the Manchester Church of Christ where they worshiped for many years. Mom worked for the IRS in the Appeals Dept and retired in 1993. Having been married for thirty- seven years, Dad died on July 11, 1990, going home to be with the Lord. Mom left Connecticut in 2015 to live with Greg and Rosalie in Baird, TX. Mom is also survived by six grandchildren: Jennifer of Providence, RI, Kristen of Orange, CT, Matthew of Boca Raton, FL, Michael of Smyrna, TN, and Kimberly (Davey) of Coventry, CT, and Stephen of Plainview, TX. Mom also has five great grandchildren whom she also loved dearly: Ashlynn, Maddie, Colt, Cade and Lorelei. A wake will be held at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home 400 Main St., Manchester, CT on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Manchester Church of Christ, 595 Tolland Turnpike, Manchester, CT, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at Coventry Cemetery, Coventry CT.
