Ethel M. (McDonald, Schiavetti) Albert, 90, of Vernon, formerly of Manchester, died Friday, August 25, 2017 at home. Born February 23, 1927 in Bristol, CT daughter of the late Arthur and Rose (McCarron) McDonald. She was raised in Manchester, CT until she married Gino and moved to Vernon, CT to raise their sons.
Ethel was a cook at the Lake Street School and later worked for Regal Men's Shop where she was reunited with her sweetheart Roland who she dated when she was younger and married him in 1977. She loved sewing, cross-stich, knitting and crochet. She also loved playing cards, bingo and bowling and volunteering at Fox Hill Nursing home. She was a lover of all animals including her cat Punk.
She is survived by her sons Charlie Schiavetti of Stafford Springs; Jeff Schiavetti and his wife Brenda of Stafford Springs; two step-children Rolanda (Albert) Wackter and her husband David of Manchester; Garry T. Albert and his wife Tracy of Manchester; five grandchildren, Jayme (Justin) Bavar, Amanda Schiavetti, Danielle (Nick) Perry, Marissa Schiavetti, and Michael Schiavetti; two very loving great grandchildren, Desmond and Roland Perry, and several special nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by loving husbands Gino Schiavetti and Roland Albert; her sister Edith Ducharme; nephew Buddy Ducharme and beloved grandson Brian Garry Albert ("My Brian").
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 30, at 10:00 AM at St. Bridget Church, 70 Main Street, Manchester. Burial will follow at 11:30 AM in St. James Cemetery (Section F), 360 Broad Street, Manchester. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fox Hill Center Recreation Department, 1253 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, CT 06066.
