Emil G. Stavens, 10/12/1915 to 4/17/2017 died Monday morning after a short illness at Manchester Memorial Hospital, Manchester, CT. Emil was a very compassionate, ethical, honest and truly a role model to his entire family. Emil was predeceased by his wife Doris (Geer) Stavens whom he was married with for 70 years. Emil leaves behind two daughters, Marilyn Conklin of North Hampton, NY, Marjorie Otto and husband Thomas of Conway, SC., Three sons, Donald Stavens and wife, Rosalie of Sun City, AZ. Ronald Stavens and wife Barbara of Windsor, CT, Michael Stavens and wife, Kathleen of Vernon, CT. also a sister, Dorothy Mayo of West Suffield, CT. Thirteen grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Predeceased were three brothers William, Robert and Richard, a sister Louise Valenti. He was a member of South United Methodist Church since 1946. Hobbies included Bowling, visiting the Connecticut Sea Shore and riding around in his pride and joy a Chrysler Crossfire Coupe. Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main Street Manchester, CT will care for the arrangements with a private service for immediate family. Private burial will take place at a later date at the Col.
