Elvin Charles Carini, 86, of Altoona, PA, formerly of Needham, MA, devoted
husband of 60 years to Christel (Woelk) Carini passed away on Monday, April 20,
2015. He was born on March 26, 1929 in Manchester, CT, son of the late
Buonfiglio and Ida (Preli) Carini. Mr. Carini was a proud veteran of the US Army
serving his country during the Korean War. Elvin was a talented artist, musician
and photographer. He was educated at the Cooper Union Art School, Rochester
Institute of Technology and Boston University. Elvin was an accomplished film
editor for 30 years. Elvin was a devout Catholic. He was admired by all he
encountered for his honesty and integrity. In addition to his wife Christel, he is
survived by his two sons; Christopher Carini of Boston, MA and Timothy Carini of
Sunnyvale, CA, his three daughters; Rosemary Betar and her husband, Stephen of
Altoona, PA with whom he made his home, Margaret Carini of Foxboro, MA and
Catherine Carini of Hollidaysburg, PA, nine loving grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Mr. Carini was predeceased by his two sisters, Esta Frohardt and Elsie Minicucci and his three brothers; Edward, Ernest and Eugene Carini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 12 noon at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St. Manchester. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
