Elizabeth B. Sullivan

Elizabeth "Betsy" Bridget Sullivan, age 87 of Glastonbury, beloved wife of the late Robert William Sullivan, passed away peacefully the evening of July 19, 2014 among family.
Betsy was born in Worcester, MA on February 9, 1927, to Anne and John Coomey. She was raised in Worcester where she later worked for the Phone Company. Betsy was a volunteer for the U.S.O. where she met her husband of 50 years. They married in 1955 and moved to the Hartford area, residing in East Hartford and Glastonbury.
She was a devoted mother who cherished time spent with her family. While living in East Hartford Betsy was a dedicated Meals-on-Wheels volunteer and attended St. Christopher's Church. She enjoyed travel, reading and spending time at their summer cottage in the Berkshire Hills.
Betsy is survived by her sister Jane Maguire, her brother Bill Coomey, her three sons, Robert Sullivan Jr., his wife Christine Curtin, and their son Patrick Curtin and his wife Megan Quigley, Daniel Sullivan, and Matthew Sullivan and Harriet Harris. She was predeceased by their daughter, Elaine Sullivan.
The family would also like to gratefully acknowledge Betsy's caregiver Gloria Fosuaa as well as the dedicated staff at Crestfield in Manchester.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, July 28, from 5pm to 7pm at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. Services and burial in the Green Cemetery in Glastonbury will be private for the family. To leave a message for her family please visit www.holmes-watkinsfuneralhomes.com .
