Elizabeth E. Ruganis, 88, beloved widow of Stanley Ruganis, since 1972 of Manchester passed away on January 21, 2024 at home after a long illness surrounded by loving family. She was born October 15, 1935 in East Hartford to the late Durward and Ann DeBenedetto Vaughn. She graduated and attended East Hartford High. Moving to Manchester in 1958, she resided in Manchester for 64 years. Betty was employed by Manchester Memorial Hospital, retiring after 30 years. She was a member of St. Bridgets Church. She was a loving mother, devoted to her family of seven children, always available with love and guidance. She enjoyed walking her dog along Union Pond and the North End of Manchester and enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach and Maine. In addition to her husband Stanley, Betty is predeceased by her sons Robert (Jr.) and Steven Croft, her daughter, Sandra Croft and her daughter-in-law, Celeste Cantrell. She is survived by her children, son Durward Croft (Celeste), her daughters, Linda Hodgdon (David), Laurie McGrath (Gary) and Deborah Croft (David). Her sister, Noyla Croft, seven grandchildren, Melissa, Bruce, Chelsea, David, Austin, Luann and Elizabeth, and 3 great-grandchildren, Bianca, Bella and Jordan. Calling Hours will be held at Holmes Watkins Funeral Home, located at 400 Main Street, Manchester CT 06040 on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 4pm till 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bridget Church, located at 80 Main Street, Manchester CT at 10am on January 25th, 2024 with a burial to follow at St. Marys Cemetery, 930 Burnside Ave, East Hartford, CT 06108.
