Elizabeth J. Gerich

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Gerich, 95, beloved wife of the late Olin "Bunky" Gerich, SR passed away peacefully Friday October 4, 2024 with family by her side. Born in East Hartford, daughter of the late Ralph and Elsie (Krewson) Arner, she had lived in Manchester before moving to South Windsor.
She is survived by her three sons, Olin Gerich JR and wife Melissa of Coventry; Clifford Gerich and wife Jeanette of Saint Cloud, Florida; George Gerich and wife Susan of South Windsor. Betty is also survived by her six loving grandchildren, Jeni Long (Kris), Laura Gerich-Grady (Edgar), Clifford Gerich (Jennifer), Meghan Robinson (Neal), Jason Gerich and Patricia Gerich. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren who will forever remember her smile and hugs.
She was predeceased by her husband Olin "Bunky" Gerich, her brother George Arner (Dulcie) her brother Thomas Arner (Jean), and her sister Harriet Giordano (Bruno).
Betty was a graduate of Manchester High School. She was a member of the Wapping Community Church of South Windsor. She enjoyed following UCONN Basketball and NASCAR. She knitted endless hats, mittens and afghans for her family that they will forever cherish.
Betty's family wishes to extend their gratitude to Amanda from HHC at Home Hospice Care. In addition, for the dedication of her nurse Satin.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family to honor and celebrate her life. There are no calling hours.
