Elizabeth 'Betty' Frankenberg

Elizabeth "Betty" Frankenberg, 93, departed this world peacefully on August 6, 2016, surrounded by loving family members. A mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and friend, Betty left a legacy of laughter and love and will be greatly missed. Born on September 21, 1922 in Springfield, MA, Betty's parents were Ralph Parmenter and Arlene Morton. Betty grew up in the Springfield area and attended American International College in Springfield. Betty was a resident of Manchester, CT, for 60 years where she raised her family and developed many long-term friendships. Over the years Betty enjoyed camping with family and friends and loved spending time at her beach house on Cape Cod. She was an avid sewer and quilter and won many awards for her beautiful quilts. She was a long-term member of the Manchester Square Dance Club and enjoyed the comradery of her bridge group, which lasted for more than 60 years. Betty was employed by the Traveler's Insurance Company for many years. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Paul Frankenberg, Jr., by her brother, Donald Parmenter (Middletown, CT) and by her second husband of 6 years, Miner Stackpole. Betty is survived by her 3 children: Mary Thieling and Donna Frankenberg (both of Manchester, CT) and Paul Frankenberg, III (Signal Mountain, TN), and by her 7 grandchildren: Jennifer Veal and Christopher Frankenberg (both of Signal Mountain, TN), Paul Frankenberg, IV (Nashville, TN), Karen Mitcheltree (Glastonbury, CT), Eric Thieling (Grosse Pointe Farms, MI), Kate Milheiro (Ellington, CT) and Brian Fee (Manchester, CT). Betty was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Betty's positive spirit, her friendly nature and her genuine love will be forever remembered and cherished by her family.
