Elizabeth V. Blaschik, 90, of Glastonbury and formerly of Manchester and Florida, beloved wife of the late Stanley E. Blaschik, died peacefully Friday June 5, 2015 at her home with her family at her side. She was born January 31, 1925 in Middletown, daughter of the late Raymond H. & Eliza (Swan) Ventres and grew up in East Haddam and was a Graduate of Hale Ray High School. Elizabeth also attended the University of Connecticut and was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She loved family, home and her many pets, especially her canine companion "Billy". She was an avid Bridge player and Red Sox fan. She is survived by two sons, both of Manchester, Raymond P. Blaschik and his wife Judy, Richard V. Blaschik; and her grandson, Jeffrey S. Blaschik and his wife Laurel, three great grandchildren; Evan, Kolby and Cayden all of Manchester. Other survivors include two nieces and a nephew, Betty Richards, John Davidson and Hope Hodges. Elizabeth's family would like to extend a special thanks to all her caregivers and for the very special care shown to her by the Palliative and Hospice Team from the Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut. Funeral services will be private with burial in the River View Cemetery in East Haddam. Abiding by the family's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
