Elizabeth "Betty" T. Clark, 91, a longtime Manchester resident, beloved wife of the late Frank M. Clark passed peacefully at home on Friday, June 22, 2018. Betty was born in Manchester, on October 29, 1926 daughter of the late Fred E. and Bernice (Nelson) Thrall. Betty graduated from Manchester High School, class of 1944. She and Frank had two daughters and while they were growing up, Betty kept busy volunteering at Lutz Museum and the Penny Saver. She was also Choir Mother for the Children's Choir at their church and was a former Assistant Girl Scout Leader. In her spare time over the years, she was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, making everything from doll clothes to dresses for her daughters. Another volunteer job she enjoyed was at the school library which later led to her being hired by the Manchester Board of Education as a Library Para Professional for more than 25 years. After retiring from the Board of Education, she worked several years part time at the former Periwinkle Gift Shop Vernon. After the store closing, Betty volunteered at Verplanck School, assisting one of the teachers for a number of years. Betty is survived by her loving family, daughters, Karen Cassidy and her two sons, Matthew and Colin, and Linda Banks and her husband, Dennis Banks, several nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Elmer M. Thrall and his wife, Shirley Thrall. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday June 26, 2018 from 10-11 am at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home 400 Main St. in Manchester with a service to be held at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be private in East Cemetery, Manchester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
