Edward Shensie Jr.

Edward Shensie, Jr. age 82 passed away on April 20th. He was the son of Edward Shensie, Sr. and Dorothy Shensie (Foley). Edward was born in New London, CT and attended School in the New London area. At seventeen Edward enlisted in the U.S. Marines from 1959-1963. In 1962 his unit was called up to the Cuban Missile crisis. In 1963 he was honorably discharged. In 1967 he was hired at the U.S. Postal Service, in South Windsor, where he retired after 34 years of Service. In 2004 Ed and his wife Joyce moved to Westbrook, CT. Ed joined the Westbrook Veterans Honor Guard serving Veterans and their Families with Military honors at their Funerals. Edward leaves his wife Joyce and two daughters, Michelle Hurtado and her husband Fernado from Texas and Corinna Marie from Ellington, CT. He also leaves grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Gertrude Smith and his brother Wes Boar. A Graveside Service will be held at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Broad Brook, CT (60 Rye Street, Broad Brook CT 06106) with full Military Honors on Thursday, June 6th 2024 at 11am. Full Military Honors will take place with Clergy to follow. In lieu of Flowers, please consider in his memory donation to the U.S. Marines. Watkins-Holmes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
