Edward E. Clough

June 16, 1943 — February 22, 2025

Edward "Eddie" Clough, 81, of Vernon, CT, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 in the comfort of his home which he loved so very much.Eddie was born to the late Ann and Alfred Clough on June 16, 1943. Eddie lived with his parents in Manchester for a number of years where he ended up graduating from Manchester High School. Shortly thereafter, Eddie and his family relocated to Vernon where he lived for the remainder of his life.
Eddie was known to be a very simple man who focused his life on those that mattered most to him. Eddie possessed a deep love for spending time with all of his family members who he maintained as the central core of his life.
Eddie furthered his education by taking various courses at Manchester Community College and loved the process of studying so much. Eddie was an avid reader of sports, finance, nutrition, and religion. Eddie shared a love of watching sports, such as basketball, and baseball with his family.
One of Eddie's finer loves in life was caring for the animals that he had over the years which included two cocker spaniels named Brandy, and Teddy, a cat named Tammy, and a yellow canary named Bing. In addition to household pets, Eddie also enjoyed very much taking care of wildlife that visited him frequently in his yard.
Eddie is pre-deceased by his mother Ann, father Alfred, aunt Dorothy Gill of Manchester, and his brother-in-law Edward Wojcik of South Windsor.
Eddie leaves behind his sister Althea Wojcik of Vernon, niece Heather DeMonte of Coventry, nephew Scott Wojcik and his wife Karen of Ellington, cousins Richard Clough of Glastonbury, and Chuck Gill of Willington. Eddie also leaves behind great nieces and nephews Nicholas Demonte and his girlfriend Jenna of Somers, and Hannah, Jacob, and Abigayle Wojcik of Ellington.
In Eddie's final days, he was surrounded by the love and support of family, and he received remarkable care, kindness, love, and dedication from the hospice aides from Always Best Homecare of Manchester, and hospice nurses through Hartford Healthcare.
In lieu of flowers, Eddie would simply ask that everyone hold close those that they hold dear, and spend special moments with those in your lives that you love so much.
