Edith G. Nichols

Edith Nichols of South Windsor, formerly of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Richard Nichols died peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2015 at home. She was born in Manchester daughter of the late William J. and Isabel Gordon. Edith was raised in Manchester and was a graduate of Manchester High School. Prior to her retirement, Edith was employed with the former Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Co. for over 20 years. She was a longtime member of the Manchester Senior Center where she enjoyed playing cards. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Kevin Gelineau of Bath, ME, her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and their families including her two grandnieces and caregivers; Jodi Stone and Sheena Edwards. Calling hours will be held at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 10-11 am with a funeral service to begin at 11 am.
