Edith M. Muse of Manchester, CT, beloved wife of the late Vernon R. Muse, passed away on November 7, 2023. She was born in Hartford, CT on October 11, 1924 and lived most of her life in Manchester. Before retiring, she had worked several years as a Legal Secretary for the late S. Jay Teller, Patent Attorney, in Hartford, and later worked as an Executive Secretary at Colt Firearms. She was a member of South United Methodist Church for over 60 years and had served as a member of its Administrative Board. She was active in the community and was a member and past President of the Waddell School PTA, The Womens Club of Manchester, Hartford Business & Professional Womens Club Inc., Manchester Republican Womans Club, The Auxiliary of the Manchester Memorial Hospital, and as Chairman of the Manchester Auxiliary of Child and Family Services. She had also been a member of the Manchester Republican Town Committee and the Cheney National Historic District Commission. She is survived by her grandson Jessup Michael Muse of Manchester, sister-in-law Frances Moses of Greensboro, NC and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Edith was predeceased by her son Michael E. Muse, and sister-in-law Patricia Muse. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Muse family plot, Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, VA.
