Edith T. ''Edie'' Clark

Edith "Edie" (Toomey) Clark, 73, of Bolton, beloved wife of 50 years of James T. Clark Sr. peacefully passed away with her family at her side on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at home. She was born on July 22, 1944 in Manchester daughter of the late David and Olive (Hutchinson) Toomey. Edie was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and was a graduate of MHS, Class of 1962. She enlisted in the US. Army in October 1964 and faithfully served her country during the Vietnam War having earned the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Edie was a graduate of the Lawrence Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for over 44 years at Hartford Hospital until retiring in 2016. Edie was a life member of Bolton Congregational Church and was a longtime member of the D.A.V. In addition to her husband Jim, she is survived by her two sons; James T. Clark Jr. of New Port Richie, FL and Brian Clark of Bolton, her daughter Lauren Hoffman of Tolland and her eight loving grandchildren; Dylan, Austin, Ryan, Madison, Devon, Jacob, Allison and Caeli, her brother Paul Toomey and his wife Shirley of Bolton, several nieces, nephews and their families and many wonderful friends. In addition to her parents Edie was predeceased by her sister Dr. Laura Toomey and her three brothers; David Toomey Jr., Michael Toomey and Andrew Toomey. Calling hours will be held at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St. in Manchester on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Bolton Congregational Church, 228 Bolton Center Road. Burial with military honors will follow in Bolton Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Olive & David Toomey Scholarship Fund at Bolton High School or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
