Dorothy A. Rose (McDermott) 88, of Bolton, CT passed away on March 8, 2025. Dorothy was born on July 14, 1936, New York, New York.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Robert Rose. They were married for 43 years. For 6 years she ran a preschool out of her home. She worked with the Hartford school system as a Reading Teacher. Then in Colchester as a Reading Consultant. She enjoyed many get-togethers with her co-workers and friends. She was a member of the Library Board Commission. All her life she was dedicated to the Roman Catholic Church.
Dorothy loved to travel. Some memorable trips include England, Portugal, Puerto Rico, and Italy. She went on cruises to the Caribbean and Panama Canal. Dorothy graduated with a Masters Degree from the University of Connecticut, her Bachelor degree from Fordham University, NY and attended Waterbury Catholic High School, CT.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Deborah Kraenzle and her husband Christopher, her son Robert Rose, Jr. and his wife Rhonda. Also survived by her grandchildren, Elisia, Kelsey-Anna, Coner, Marion, Norina and Charles Robert. She is predeceased by three brothers, Harrold, Jr., Raymond Joseph, and Francis LeRoy. A Memorial Mass will be on March 29, 2025 at 10AM, Church of St. Maurice, 32 Hebron Rd, Bolton, CT. Burial will be at Bolton Center Cemetery immediately after the Funeral Mass.
