Doris Ann Runde

Doris Ann Runde (Keeney), 101, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born in Manchester, CT to the late Eugene and Lillian Todd Keeney. She grew up in Buckland, later graduating from Manchester High School Class of 1940B. She worked at Travelers upon graduation, and would later work for Sears & Roebuck in both the automotive and men's department as a sales clerk.
Ann married Harry Whitney, her high school sweetheart January 24, 1942 but was widowed in August of 1943. She met and married her husband of almost 60 year, William (Bill) Runde on August 9, 1947. They settled in Manchester and welcomed two daughters, Janis Bouley and Lynne Linders. Bill was very active in the Army Navy Club so they spent many happy evenings dancing and dining at the club with friends. After they retired, Ann and Bill traveled extensively with her sister Betty and brother in law, Bill Richards,the two couples also enjoyed time together during off season at the Cape. Summer vacations were spent with their Doane Street neighbors, the Teets Family, on Great Pond in Belgrade Maine.
Ann is predeceased by, Orville (Harry) Whitney; husband William Raymond Runde; sister and brother in law Betty and Bill Richards; brother Walter (Bill) Keeney and sister in law Carolyn; brother in law Harry Hougas; and step-siblings Marion Burnham and Richard Keeney; her two son in laws, Ernest (Buddy) Linders and William (Billy) Bouley.
Ann is survived by her daughters Janis Bouley and Lynne Linders; three grandsons Ernest Ethan Linders and wife Liz, Michael William Bouley and fiancé Katrina Etts, and David Todd Bouley, as well as two great-grandchildren Nolan and Ella Linders; and her sister Carol Hougas of Wethersfield, CT. and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM. Burial will be immediately after at East Cemetery.
