Doris S. Ramizi

Doris (Skoglund) Ramizi, 98, of Cromwell, formerly of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Vincent Ramizi passed away peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2015 with her daughter by her side. Doris was born on November 6, 1917 in New Britain, daughter of the late Edward and Wilhelmina Skoglund. She had lived in Manchester for most of her life before moving to Cromwell in 2009. She received her bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut State University and her master's from Columbia University. Prior to her retirement she was a third grade teacher at Green School and Waddell School in Manchester. Doris was a former member of Center Congregational Church in Manchester and a member of the Connecticut Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed knitting, traveling around the world, and most of all spending time with her family. Doris is survived by her daughter, Cindy Mudry, her four grandchildren; Amy (Mudry) Buckley and her husband, Timothy and their two children, Liam and Elle Buckley, Jonathan Mudry, Michael Sturtevant and Missy Sturtevant and many nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her husband and parents Doris was predeceased by her daughter, Belinda Bendak. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at Center Congregational Church, 11 Center St. Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.
