Doris Anita Prentice

Doris Anita (Carlson) Prentice, lifelong resident of Manchester, died peacefully Friday, March 12, 2021. Doris was born in Manchester on Aug. 8, 1925, one of three children to Gustav William and Anna (Gustafson) Carlson. She attended Manchester schools, graduating from Manchester High School in 1944. After a career in insurance, she raised a family and was, for many years a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. Doris was an avid music fan, played the organ and was active in Emanuel's choir and bell choir.

Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her Loving husband of 64 years Edward J. Prentice and her beloved brothers Albert and Arvid. Doris is survived by her two children, Scott Prentice of Manchester, CT and Laura Witt of Venice, Florida.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. A graveside service will be held Wednesday March 17 at 11:00 a.m., in the East Cemetery (Section 16 Harrison), 240 East Center St., Manchester.
