Doris E. Paquin

Doris E. (Glidden) Paquin, 95, beloved wife of the late Charles I. Paquin died peacefully at home on Friday, July 6, 2018 with her loving family at her side, she was also accompanied by Richard and Ian Herms. She was born on June 8, 1923 in Maine, the daughter of the late Alvin and Minnie Glidden. She has been a resident of Manchester since 1984, previously her and her loving husband were residents of Coventry, CT for over 40 years. Doris and her husband owned Carlson's Express located in Manchester, CT from 1970 until the late 80's. She loved to travel with her husband and they visited almost every state in the U.S. including Alaska. They spent summers in Groton Long Point, CT enjoying their boat and summer home. Doris and Charles also enjoyed time in Mexico in the 1940's, camping out in the desert with close friends and family. She had a great love for dogs and raised French Poodles in her earlier years. Doris was very creative, painted many great oil paintings and made beautiful wedding cakes, making them for many of her nieces, nephews and friends as well as her daughter. Doris is survived by her loving family, her daughter Sharon Paquin of Manchester with whom she made her home, her two special grandchildren; SaraJean (Walsh) Rudman and her husband David and their son Charles David Rudman of Glastonbury and Eric Walsh and his wife Kayla of Manchester and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her husband and parents Doris was predeceased by 12 sisters and brothers. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10 am at the New Hebron Cemetery on Wall Street in Hebron. There are no visitation hours.
