Doris Buck

Doris Adele Buck (ne: Schmeelk), 97, of Coventry, CT passed peacefully on Saturday, June 18th 2022. Born on January 25th, 1925 to William and Myra Schmeelk in Blue Point, Long Island, NY. Doris was the 4th youngest of 11 siblings, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Buck after 55 years of marriage. Doris is survived by her sons Walter Buck and Peter Buck and his wife Bonnie Buck, as well as her 6 grandsons; Alan, Sean, Josh, Jesse, James, and Jacob Buck, their spouses, and her 5 great-grandchildren; Killian, Aoife, Finley, Remy, and John Henry Buck. Doris was an active Jehovah Witness. She also enjoyed writing and illustrating poetry, playing harmonica, photography, riding motorcycles, skiing, gardening, and story telling. She loved the ocean, God, and the Bible. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28th from 6 to 8 PM at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home in Manchester, CT. Private interment to follow.
