Donald R. Wood, 80 of North Salem, NY, passed away on Wednesday April 4, 2018 in Tolland, CT after an extended illness.
Don was born in Pound Ridge, NY on June 13, 1937, the youngest of thirteen children of Ernest and Jennie Eva (Dean) Wood. He was raised in Pound Ridge and had been a resident of North Salem since the late 1970's. Prior to retiring he had been a tree surgeon and arborist for many years, and enjoyed traveling through the Catskills in New York.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Jeff Breault of Ellington, CT, and Ginny and Dave Armata of Vernon, CT, his grandson, Steven Armata of Vernon; his brother, Frank Wood, of Brewster, NY, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He also leaves two very close friends, Dick Button and Javier Medina, both of Brewster, NY.
