Dolores B. (Mayer) Maher

Dolores (Dolly) Maher, 91, of Vernon CT, peacefully passed away in the presence of her children on September 4, 2024 at Fox Hill in Vernon, CT.
Dolly was born on December 25, 1932, in Woonsocket, RI to the late Arthur and Beatrice (St Amant) Mayer. She was employed by D&L clothing store in Vernon for many years having remained friends with co-workers, meeting for lunch up until very recently. She loved her family, traveling, her friends and shopping.
She is survived by her daughters Ann (Sean) Scalley and Karen (Rob) Sewell, and son Christopher (Lou Ann) Maher. She also leaves behind her grandchildren who called her GMA: Amy Sewell, Noelle (Jacob)Werbicki, Crystal Maher, Abigail (Eric) Bouten, Sean Scalley Jr and Kristen (Jason) Brown as well as great grandchildren Alina and Mikaela Werbicki and Owen, Connor, Quinn, Emma and Easton Scalley and Hudson Brown.
Beside her parents, she is predeceased by her late husband Robert who she missed every second of every day since his passing in 2021 after 64 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter Angie Maher as well as her brothers Bert, Donald and Roland.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Bartholomew Church, 736 Middle Turnpike E., Manchester CT 06040 on Friday September 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
Dolly's family would like to send their sincere thanks to the staff at Fox Hill in Vernon for their compassionate care while she was in their care.
