Diane M. Laakso

Diane M. (Aceto) Laakso, 72, of East Hartford and Harwich, MA, loving wife of 31 years of Dr. William B. Laakso peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 with her family at her side at Hartford Hospital. Diane was born on July 13, 1944 in Manchester daughter of the late Russell P. Aceto Sr. and Lillian M. (Linnell) Aceto. She was raised in East Hartford, attended local schools and was a graduate of EHHS, Class of 1962. Diane went onto earn her nursing degree from Prince Tech in 1979. Diane was employed as a LPN for Dr. Michael Martin for over 24 years. In addition to her husband Bill, Diane leaves her daughter JoDee (Rini) Cyr and her husband Cary and their children; Sheridan, Caylin and Cameron Cyr all of Newington, her son James Rini and his wife Carol and their children; Danielle and Samantha all of Vernon, her two step daughters; Kristen Foley of Granby and Lauren Young and her husband Robert of Niantic. She also leaves her brother and sister-in-law; Russell and Judy Aceto of Manchester, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kennie and Dick Suhie of Manchester and Leslie and Chris Duffy of Glendale, AZ, numerous nieces, nephews and their families, several aunts, uncles and cousins and many wonderful friends. In addition to her parents Diane was predeceased by her former husband Paul Rini. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. in Manchester on Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 2-5 pm with a service to begin at 4:30 pm. Burial will be private in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital.
