Delmar L. Cote

Delmar Leroy Cote, age 77, formerly of Manchester, husband of the late Sonya T. (Albert) Cote, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.
Del was born in Ft. Fairfield, ME on March 8, 1937, son of the late Archille and Bertha (Bourgoine) Cote. He was raised in Maine and moved to Hartford in 1949. He served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1958. He moved to Florida in 1968 and returned to Manchester in 1977. He had been a typesetter for newspapers in Connecticut and Florida, and retired from the Stanadyne Company in Windsor in 1999. While living in Manchester he had been a parishioner of St. Bridget Church.
He is survived by his four children, Ricky Cote and his wife Judi of Valdosta, GA, Larry Cote and his wife Jean of Coventry, CT, Randy Cote and his wife Laura of Williamsburg, VA, and Christine Schuvart of Woodstock, GA; five grandchildren, Cory Cote, Audra Cote, Sam Schuvart, Emily Schuvart, and Chelsea Cote; a great-granddaughter, Mya Cote; two sisters, Laurette Fitzgerald of Newington, CT, Mary Jeanine Hadlock in Maine, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be held Friday, Jan. 23, at 1:00 PM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester with burial to follow in the East Cemetery in Manchester. A visiting hour will begin at 12:00 PM.
