David J Lyons

David J. Lyons, 69, of Manchester, died peacefully at Manchester Memorial Hospital surrounded by family on Sunday, November 27, 2016. He was born on February 20, 1947 in Manchester, son of the late Robert J. and Jesse (Hutchinson) Lyons. He was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and the Manchester Salvation Army Church. Dave was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving his country in the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement in 2010, Dave had been employed with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 39 years. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Steven and Stefany Lyons and their son Connor all of Manchester, his daughter Brenda M. Lyons of Manchester, his brother Alan Lyons and his wife Carol Rudert- Lyons of Vernon, his niece Jennifer Lyons of New York City and his nephew Gordon Lyons of Ellington. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St. Manchester from 5-8 pm. Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 2nd at 11: 00 am at the Salvation Army Church, 661 Main St. Manchester. Burial with military honors will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Cheney Library, 586 Main St. Manchester, CT 06040 for the benefit of Children' Programs.
