Daniel H.DePlante, age 68 passed away peacefully at home on May 24 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife, Louise, daughter, Lisa and son in law Jim.He is also survived by many aunts& uncles, included Maria Crafts, Ronnie & Yogi Kindred, Mac & Lola Mcquaid, and Dell & Pattie Biladeau, A sister Mae & her husband Ned Discola, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Daniel was born in Hartford, CT on August 24th, 1945 to Mario and Carmen DePlante. He grew up in Manchester CT and graduated from Manchester HS. Dan went on to serve as a marine in the Vietnam war and received numerous medals including a purple heart. While living in PA he worked for Proctor and Gamble for 15 years, he moved back to CT where he worked for Abbott Ball & recently retired from his job at Tolland Board of Ed. His many hobbies included spending time outdoors, his love for animals and working with his hands on numerous projects. Always the jokester, he loved to make people laugh. He will be dearly missed by his family, faithful dog , Bo, friends, and will be forever in our hearts.
