Claude C. Frechette

Claude C. Frechette, 78, of West Hartford and formerly of Hartford, died peacefully, Wednesday September 10, 2014 at the Hebrew Home with his family at his side. Claude was born April 16, 1936 in Riviere-Bleau, Quebec, Canada, son of the late Francis & Lillian (Scott) Frechette, he came to the U.S in the 1950's, he served in the U.S. Army, and had been a resident of Hartford since 1961. Prior to his retirement he had worked for Carling Switch Co. of Hartford for many years. He was an avid golfer, he volunteered his time at the St. Augustine's Food Pantry in Hartford for many years and was always willing to help out his fellow man in any way he could.
He is survived by three daughters, Gwendolyn Lavallee and her companion Robert Marigliani of South Windsor, Claudette Eagleton of Dudley, MA., Michelle Bennett and her husband Timothy of Villa Rica, GA., four grandchildren, Brian Lavallee, Corinne Lavallee, Briannah Eagleton and Rachel Eagleton. Other survivors include his sister, Dolores Frechette of St. Mark, Quebec and several nieces and nephews. Claude was predeceased by two sisters Gemma Jendreau and Rachel Belevance. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Hebrew Home for their care and commitment during his time there. Funeral services will be held Saturday September 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be held in the Fabrique de Riviere Bleve Cemetery in Canada. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
