Clarence "Clay" W. Vibberts, 101, of Manchester, beloved husband of the late Clarissa (MacDonald) Vibberts died peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Fenwood Manor in Manchester after living independently in his home up until a month ago. He was born on March 28, 1916 in Southington son of the late Herbert E. and Sarah Ann (Dillaway) Vibberts. He had been a resident of Manchester since 1948. Clarence was a proud veteran of the US Army serving his country during WW II. He was employed for over 41 years as a Tool & Dye Maker for United Tool & Dye in West Hartford until his retirement in 1981. Clarence was a member of the Rockville American Legion and the British/American Club in Manchester. He is survived by his son Brian W. Vibberts Sr. and his wife Lucille of Portland, CT, as well as three loving grandchildren; Brian W. Vibberts Jr. and his wife Cathy, Melissa Vibberts and Michelle Vibberts, six great-grandchildren; John Read, Jacob Read, Kathryn Sutton, Jaden Vibberts, Nicholas Vibberts and Bianca Vibberts, and his former daughter-in-law Wanda Campbell. In addition to his wife and parents, Clarence was predeceased by his son Ross Vibberts, his daughter, Sharon Vibberts, his grandson Michael Vibberts, his two sisters; Irene Scoville and Viola Woodruff and his step-father David Ross. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 12-1 pm with a service at 1 pm at the funeral home.
