Charles J. Minicucci Jr. "Charlie", 86 of Bolton, CT, loving husband for sixty-three years of Janet (Schaub) Minicucci, passed away peacefully on Monday April 18, 2016 at Hartford Hospital with his family by his side.
Charles was born in Manchester, CT on February 22, 1930, son of the late Charles J. and Elsie (Carini) Minicucci, was raised in Manchester, and graduated from Manchester High School. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War, married Janet on February 14, 1953, and settled in Bolton.
Charles started his company M&M Oil in 1953. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, blessing others by always being a hospitable host, weekly men's card night, watching westerns, and a true Red Sox fan. He was a communicant of St. Maurice Church and a member of the Hebron Sportsmans Club. He was also a Charter member of the Bolton Lion's Club and was recently awarded Lion of Year in 2016.
With his wife, he is survived by his sister, Joan (Minicucci) Rivers of South Windsor; four children, Donna Ohlhof and her husband Bruce of Bolton, Barbara Gouchoe and her husband Bernie of Bolton, Charles Minicucci III and his wife Charlene of Andover, CT, and James Minicucci and his wife Kathy of Andover; eight grandchildren, Jenna, Justin, Belgin, Kyle, Samantha, Stephanie, Ashley, and Jeylan; thirteen great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brittany, Donovan, Austin, Deanna, Trenton, Blake, Aubrey, Brody, Braelyn, Mason, Ryan, and Jameson; and many nieces, nephews, God children and numerous dear friends.
Beside his parents Charles was predeceased by a sister, Esta (Minicucci) Gilmore, and a daughter-in-law, Rachel (Stevenson) Minicucci.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 25, 10:30 AM at St. Maurice Church, 32 Hebron Road, Bolton. Burial with military honors will follow in the Bolton Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 24, at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester from 2 PM to 6 PM with a Lions Club service at 5 PM.
