Charles A. Jaworski

Charles A. Jaworski 87, of Manchester, husband of Mary E. (Ingle) Jaworski died Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Born in Enfield November 9, 1927, son of Anthony and Jennie (Turek) Jaworski, he had lived in Manchester since 1955. He was a graduate of Ellsworth Memorial High School in South Windsor, and served with the US Army in Europe at the end of World War II. He went on to study at the University of Connecticut and Harvard University and earned degrees in civil and sanitary engineering. He was employed as a sanitary / environmental engineer with the US Public Health Service, the Connecticut Department of Public Health, and local consulting engineering firms, retiring from Loureiro Engineering Associates. He loved vegetable gardening, carpentry projects, crossword puzzles and reading to his grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a charter member of St. Bartholomew Church, where he served in a variety of capacities, and volunteered at the MACC homeless shelter. He also volunteered for several years at Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity building projects. Besides his wife of more than 63 years, he is survived by his children Wanda Jaworski of Walnut Creek, CA, Anne Jaworski and husband Tsering Lama of Seattle, WA, Frank Jaworski and wife Sandy of Glenwood, MD, Julia Czarnecki and husband William of Manchester, and Martha Jaworski and her husband John Rosato of Boise, ID; grandchildren Jessica (Twohey) Billmeier, Monica Jaworski, Keith Jaworski, Paul Jaworski, Blaine Ericson, Grace Ericson, Paul Ericson and Jay Rosato; and great granddaughter Zoe Billmeier and great grandson Zac Billmeier. He also leaves his brother Edward Jaworski and wife, Gail of Windsor, CT, his sister Suzanne Lott of Enfield, several nieces and nephews, a step grandson William Czarnecki, a step granddaughter Susan Izzo and two step great granddaughters Ava and Anella Izzo. He was predeceased by an infant sister Florence. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11 am from the Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main St. Manchester, followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Rd. Manchester. Burial with military honors will be in St. Bridget Cemetery, 180 Oakland St. Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, July 23, from 4-7 pm.
