Charles "Chuck" "Gramps" Fuller Sr.

January 5, 1923 — July 10, 2025

Charles “Chuck”, “Gramps” Fuller, Sr., the son of Clayton R. Fuller and Mary Symington Fuller, passed away peacefully at the age of 102 (and a half) on July 10th, 2025.
Gramps will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, extraordinary sense of humor and generous spirit. Always willing to lend a hand and incredibly hard working, he was even building stone walls with one of his sons at 83! His family will be forever grateful for his impeccable memory - a conversation with him was like a walk-through history. His determination (some might call it stubbornness) was legendary. He was a firm believer in doing the right thing, helping those around him and enjoying a good cigar while watching the Red Sox and UConn Women’s Basketball.
In his 102 years, Gramps worked in a CCC Camp, drove a Hartford city bus, ran an antiques business and supervised the Town of Manchester sewer department. He was proud to have served his country in the US Navy during WWII alongside his brothers in the US Army and received a military commendation.
His life will long be celebrated by his loving family of three children, Gordon Fuller (wife Janice), Joyce Wazer (husband Barry), Charles Fuller, Jr. (partner Kim Friedgen), 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and his sister Pat Byron.
Gramps was predeceased by his wonderful wife of 49 years Anne Backus-Fuller, 12 brothers & sisters, and beloved granddaughter Katharine Lapointe.
Gramps will be honored by friends and family in a funeral service this week. For an online memorial guestbook please visit www.holmeswatkins.com .
