Charles L. Bruder

Charles "Chuck" LeRoy Bruder, 82, of Manchester, husband of 56 years of the late Johanna Althea (Mello) Bruder, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 26, 2019 after an extended illness. Chuck was born on September 18, 1937 in Canton, OH son of the late Otto and Mabelle (Brumbaugh) Bruder. He was raised in Louisville, OH. Pop joined the U.S. Air Force right out of high school and was stationed in Cape Cod, MA where he met our mother, Johanna. Pop proudly owned Buried Under Paperback Books and Comics in Manchester for many years. He was also an active member of the American Legion in Manchester for several years as well. Chuck is survived by his two children; Johanna "Jo-Jo Roy of Essex, VT and Arthur "Art" Bruder of Manchester, five beloved grandchildren; Ryan Roy and fianc Emma Vieira of VT, Ethan Roy and wife Erin of Surprise, AZ, Colin Roy of Manchester, Chase Bruder of Enfield, CT and Jenna Bruder of Storrs, 4 great grandchildren, great-grandsons Roman Roy, Cyrus Roy and Charles "Charlie" Bruder, and a great-granddaughter Harper Roy. He is also survived by his brother Richard Bruder of Canton, OH, sisters Sandra Earhart of Carson City, NV and Joyce Skelley of Louisville, OH. He was predeceased by a younger brother Jerry Bruder of Canton, OH. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester on Friday, January 3rd from 3-5 pm.
