Charles R. Botteron, 87, of Manchester, beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Mitchell) Botteron died on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. He was born on January 11, 1928 in Manchester, son of the late Charles E. and Louise Botteron. Charles attended local schools, was a graduate of Manchester High School and had been a lifelong resident of Manchester. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the US. Army. He was employed for over 35 years with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, retiring in 1986 as a Time Study Analyst. Charles was a longtime member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Manchester. He was a member of Manchester Lodge #73 A.F. & A.M. Charles loved sports. He watched and rooted for UConn, the Red Sox, the Patriots and he was an avid follower of the former Manchester Silkworms Baseball Team. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lorrie and Mark Cohen of South Windsor, his two loving grandchildren; Brandon Cohen and Samantha Cohen both of South Windsor, his three brothers and their spouses; Victor and Joan Botteron, David Botteron and Bev Carr, and Eugene and Pat Botteron. Five sisters and their spouses; Dorothy and Donald Fisher, Jeanette and Jimmy Roach, Susan Kaluzewicz, Marie and Carl Shillo and Karen and Tony Steullet, his sister-in-law, Marjorie Botteron, numerous nieces, nephews and their families and many wonderful friends. In addition to his wife and parents Charles was predeceased by a brother, Leon Botteron, a brother-in-law, Thomas Kaluzewicz and his faithful dog Jett. A calling hour will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 41 Park St. Manchester, from 10-11 am with the funeral service at 11 am at the church. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111 or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
