Catherine H. (Stefany) Bumsch, 87, of Farmington, formerly of Manchester, beloved wife of Aurel A. Bumsch, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at The Summit at Plantsville nursing home. Catherine was born June 24, 1927 in Egypt, PA, daughter of the late John and Katherina (Thurner) Stefany. She resided in Manchester for more than sixty years before moving to Village Gate in Farmington in 2006. She loved knitting and crocheting and made her own clothes. Prior to retiring, she was employed at the former Manchester Modes for over 40 years and was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manchester. In addition to her husband, Catherine is survived by her son, Walter Bumsch and his wife, Carleen of Farmington, two granddaughters, Kristin and Courtney, a sister, Anna Muschko and her husband, William "Bill", a nephew, Mark and a niece, Debbie Clarke and her family, all of New Jersey as well as a niece Erika Konopeus in Czechoslovakia. Besides her parents, Catherine was predeceased by a sister Maria (Stefany) Konopeus. The Bumsch family would like to thank the physicians, nurses and staff at The Summit for their excellent care and attention. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11:00am at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 112 Cooper Street, Manchester followed by a private burial at East Cemetery, Manchester.
