Carolyn Louise (Ervolina) Eschmann, 76, of Manchester, CT, loving wife for sixty years of John R. "Rudy" Eschmann, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 22, 2016.
She was born on February 3, 1940 in Queens, NY, daughter of Anthony and Irene Ervolina. She was raised in Ozone Park, New York and had been a Manchester resident since 1968. Prior to retiring Carolyn had been employed as an administrative assistant at the Travelers Insurance Company, the former Meadows Convalescent Home in Manchester, the Salmon Brook Convalescent Home in Glastonbury, and Tri-County Board of Realtors of Manchester. She was a faithful parishioner of the Church of The Assumption in Manchester, and a proud member of the Mt. Carmel / Saint Christina Society, The Sons of Italy, and Our Lady of Grace Society.
Carol was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first. Being "Nonni" to her six grandchildren was her greatest role in life and they meant the world to her. She loved her Italian heritage, cooking, baking and teaching her daughters and grandchildren all of her family traditions.
She is survived by her loving husband, three daughters, Rena Bard and her partner Carl of Manchester, Lynda Everett and her husband Steven of Columbia, and Debra Merrer and her husband Donald of East Hartford; six grandchildren, Robert R. Bard, Stephanie Aheart and her husband Robert, Joseph Everett and his fiance Kara Dokas, Christina Everett, Angela Merrer, and Nicholas Merrer. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Kane and her husband Jerry of Florida, two brothers, Anthony Ervolina and his wife Lyndia of West Virginia, Robert Ervolina and his wife Jackie of New York, her brother-in-law, John DeKanchuk of New York, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Carolyn was predeceased by her sister, Sally Ann DeKanchuk.
Visiting hours are Thursday, April 28, from 2 to 4 PM and 5 to 8 PM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. Funeral services are Friday, April 29, private for family at the funeral home, and all are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 29 South Adams Street, Manchester. Burial will follow in the East Cemetery in Manchester.
