Carolyn R. (Schlender) Davies (Gma), 76, of Manchester, died peacefully, Wednesday August 20, 2014 at an area convalescent home. She was born November 10, 1937 in Wichita, KS., daughter of the late Carl & Clarice Schlender and had lived in Lansing, MI and Seattle, WA before moving to Manchester over 50 years ago. Carolyn was a Social Worker with the East Hartford Public Schools then a founding partner at Psychotherapy & Counseling Associates in Manchester. She had been an active member of South United Methodist Church in Manchester for many years. Carolyn was a passionate supporter of feminist issues and believer in Jesus the revolutionary redeemer and was proud to see her granddaughters and grandsons raised as independent thinkers in Churches that welcome people from any orientation. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Steven T. & Deirdre Davies of Bolton, Daniel L. & Annette Davies of Portsmouth, NH., her daughter and son-in-law Linda M. & Larry Wright of Barrington, NH. and eleven grandchildren, Christina, Rebecca, Alanna, and Caitrina Davies, Robert, Jonathan and Amanda Wright, Veronica, Peter, Samuel, and Michael Davies, as well as the father of her children Gerald Davies (Gpa) and his loving wife Dorothy (GDot). Memorial services will be held on September 7th 2pm at the Bolton Congregational Church, 228 Bolton Center Rd. in Bolton. Memorial donations may be made to Planned Parenthood.
