Carl R. Bujaucius

Carl R. Bujaucius, 60, of Coventry, formerly of Manchester passed away suddenly of natural causes at home on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. He was born on July 18, 1957 in Manchester son of Dorothy (Hincks) Bujaucius of Manchester and the late Edward J. Bujaucius. Carl was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1975. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from CCSU in 1981 and had teaching certification in mathematics and physical education. Carl was employed as a math teacher and athletic coach in the Manchester school system for almost 30 years, the majority of those years at Manchester High School. Most recently he taught in Hartford at the CREC Arts Academy and the Montessori Magnet School. Carl loved sports and coaching. He served for over 20 years as a soccer and basketball coach at both the middle school and high school levels in Manchester. Carl was also named as the Athletic Director at Manchester High School for two years in the early 2000's. Ever humble, his happiest achievement was being named Teacher of the Year at MHS for the 2002-2003 school year. Carl enjoyed many sports, was an accomplished duckpin bowler and was a great fan of the Boston Celtics, the Red Sox and the New York Giants. Finally, Carl always had a kind heart for rescue dogs and had a number of them over the years including Kenya, Taylor and Morgan. In addition to his mother Dorothy, Carl is survived by his four brothers; John Bujaucius and Gary Bujaucius and his wife Sara Campbell all of Worcester, MA, Jerry Bujaucius of Manchester and David Bujaucius of Tallmadge, Ohio, his four nieces; Cameron, Jessica, Kelsey and Kate and many wonderful friends, colleagues and students. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St. in Manchester on Sunday, October 22 from 2:00-5:00 pm. Casual dress is suggested. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
