Bruce E Jenack

Bruce E. Jenack, 63, of Manchester, loving husband of 29 years to Kim E. (Smith) Jenack died on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. Bruce was born on March 13, 1952 in Hartford son of Eris (Carlson) Jenack of Manchester and the late Edward W. Jenack. He was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and had been a lifelong resident. He was owner of the former Jenack's Transmissions in Manchester for eighteen years and more recently he was a Repair Technician for the Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation. He was an avid airplane pilot, Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast and animal lover, especially of his dogs. In addition to his mother, Eris and wife Kim, more than 70 foster children whom he and Kim raised over the last 18 years and his beloved dogs, Harley and Mia, survive him. Other survivors include his aunt, Lilly Lumb and her husband, William of Colorado, his uncle, Henry Jenack of Old Lyme, two cousins, Mike Jenack of Old Lyme and Carin Buus and her husband, Virgil of Ellington, his in-laws, Donald and Marjorie Smith of Manchester and three brothers-in-law, Wayne Smith and his son, Donald, Scott Smith and his wife, Karen and their children, Jen and Dan and Russ Smith and his fianc, Susan Furbish all of Manchester. In addition to his father, Bruce was predeceased by his sister, Susan Oney and his brother-in-law, James Smith. Memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center Street, Manchester from 3-7 pm with a service at 7pm. Burial will be private in East Cemetery, Manchester.
