Bridget B Lowd

September 29, 1947 — January 25, 2022

Bridget Blakemore Lowd, 74, a lifelong resident of Manchester, CT and much beloved wife of the late Malcolm B. Lowd passed away January 25, 2022 after a long illness. Bridget was the much adored and loved mother of Christina "Christy" Lowd Gademsky and Jeffrey A. Lowd (Samantha Lowd). Bridget is survived by her uncle, William B. Lynn of Manchester whom she loved dearly. Bridget was a graduate of Manchester High class of 1965. She was employed for over 30 years as a cashier having worked at both ShopRite and Stop and Shop during this time.

During her retirement, she took delight in spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren, Marcella Lowd Jensen (Freyja Jensen), Carson Gademsky, Gerrit Gademsky, Abigael Lowd, Macklin Lowd, and Sean Jeffrey Lowd. Bridget loved going on day trips to Vermont, New Hampshire,Sturbridge, camping and Disney Cruises. She also adored her grand-dogs, Vicky, and Diggy who she enjoyed spoiling with treats and her cooking. She was a big fan of classic country music and Irish music including the Clancy Brothers, Celtic Thunder and Byrne and Kelly attending many concerts during the past 12 years with her husband and daughter.
Bridget was loved for her strong spirit and commitment to her family. She was an amazing cook and loved collecting Annalee dolls. She will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew her. The family would like to extend their thanks to the wonderful staff and doctors at Regional Cancer Care Associates (RCCA) in Manchester who nicknamed her the "Iron Woman" for all she overcame and the positive attitude she maintained during her illness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to RCCA Regional Cancer Associates, 100 Haynes St., Manchester CT. Arrangements and the private burial are being handled by Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home in Manchester.
