On April 9, 2017 the night sky became a bit brighter as Beverley (Taylor) Gifford, 78 , of Manchester became another star. After defying the expectations of the medical community, for over a decade, her tenacious fight came to a quiet, peaceful end surrounded by her family.
Beverley was born September 3, 1938 to the late Clayton and Elsie Taylor of Manchester. She is predeceased by her two Sisters Etta (Taylor) Zwick, of Coventry and Dorothy (Taylor) Pouliot, of Manchester. Bev is survived by her Husband James Gifford. They were able to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary last Summer. Something she was hoping for more than anything. She is also survived by their two Daughters: Sue Caron, of Manchester and Laurie Galarneau , also of Manchester and their respective Husbands: Les Caron and Richard Galarneau, her grandchildren and their families: Julie Caron, of Manchester, and her blended family with Tim Danahy and their children Jessie, Gabby, Conner, Jackson and Angel. Scott Caron, of Tolland, his Wife JoAnn and their children Matthew, Michael and Hunter. Bev leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as countless friends that have become family over the years.
Her family was her pride and joy. She loved nothing more that the impromptu picnic outside and watching her family grow. Her passion for life was evident in everything she did from crafting to cooking to working in her beloved flower beds. She was quick with humor and sarcasm and the cornerstone of her family. Free flowing advice ( wanted or not) and a shoulder to lean on were always at the ready. Bev lived life with passion, and by her own rules, right up until the very end.
Her family would like to thank everyone involved in Bev's medical care over the past 10 years. Especially to the staff at the Outpatient Infusion Lab at St. Francis and Dr. Sabeena Arora and her colleagues in the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic, also at St. Francis. If it weren't for you, we would not have had the time that we did with her. We would also like to thank two very special nurses on 5-1 at St. Francis for the compassion, empathy, care and concern for not only Bev's comfort but also for ours. Jasmine, you are truly an Angel. Your sweetness, respect and dedication to " Miss Beverley" go without saying. Your love for your work is clear. Amy, your sweet, comforting demeanor also brought comfort to Bev and her family. You both made a difficult few days a lot less painful. Dr. Arora, words cannot express the immense gratitude for your hard work, wisdom and soft spoken spirituality. You recognize your patients in a way that it hard to come by these days. The gift that you have given this family is something that cannot even be described in words. Thank you does not even begin to cover it.
She will be missed greatly by all whom loved her, but Bev's love and zest for life will forever be remembered in countless memories we all share.
