Betty M. Keehner passed away on April 23rd, 2025 at the age of 93. She was born in Springfield, Mass on August 26th, 1931 to Dr. Corinne (Ringquist) and Corad Gosselin and shortly after moved to New Britain, CT. She attended local schools and graduated from New Britain High school in 1949. Betty was a member of The First Lutheran church where she taught Sunday School for many years. In 1953 she married Bernard Von Hone and moved to Manchester CT. She worked at Bennet Junior High School retiring after twenty years of service. Her husband Bernie became ill and passed away quite young. In time, she fell in love again and married a wonderful man named Bill Keehner. Bill brought two daughters Debbie and Jackie to join Betty's sons Bernie and Kurt. Betty loved to work in the yard with her dogs by her side. She and Bill were active members of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Manchester. She is survived by two sons, Bernie of Manchester and Kurt VonHone and Kurt's wife Janel who reside in Arizona. Two loving daughters, Debbie Keehner of Ellington, CT and Jackie Keehner of Manchester. Six grandchildren who made her the proudest "Gram" and whom she loved dearly. Twins Heather and Jennifer Gelineau, Kristen Fernandes, Matthew Stough, Brian Von Hone and wife Samantha, and Adrian Ouellette. Betty was blessed with eight great grandchildren She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill Keehner in 2009, three sisters, Doris Tillman, Shirley Willametz, Arlene Campanelli and brother Henry Gosselin. Betty would like to be remembered for her love of animals. She had an affinity for Golden retrievers and adored Sammy, Maggie and Wiggly. Calling Hours will be held at Holmes Watkins Funeral Home, located at 400 Main Street, Manchester CT on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 9am till 10:30am with a Funeral Home Service from 10:30am till 11am. Burial will take place immediately after at East Cemetery located at 220 East Center Street, Manchester CT. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her memory to an animal shelter of your choice.
