Bernardo Talao DeVera, 96 of Manchester, CT, died Wednesday February 21, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Pampanga, Philippines on June 21, 1921, came to Connecticut in 1990, and was an avid member of the South United Methodist Church on Main Street in Manchester. Bernardo was also a survivor of the Bataan Death March during World War II.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Bill Whipple of Land O Lakes, FL, formerly of Manchester, and four grandchildren, Robert DeVera, Jenneth DeVera, Jeanne Fruits, Karl Schad, many great-grandchildren, and five children and family in the Philippines.
