Barbara S. Witham

Barbara (Starkweather) Witham, 78 of Manchester, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Barbara was born September 13, 1938 in Manchester, daughter of the late Arthur J. and Ellen (Larson) Starkweather. She resided all her life in Manchester and had worked at the Westown Pharmacy for 34 years, retiring as Front End Manager. She was a member of North United Methodist Church, was an avid reader, loved playing bingo, spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed working with arts and crafts. Barbara is survived by her loving children, Lisa White and her husband, Charles of Watertown, CT, Steven Witham of Manchester, Michael and his wife, Christina Witham of Manchester, grandchildren, Frankie Witham, Karla and her husband DeMario Hanson, Thomas White, Samantha White, a great-grandson, J.J. Hanson and several nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her parents she was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph Starkweather and Donald Starkweather. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 10:30 am at Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main St. Manchester. Private burial will be in East Cemetery, Manchester.
