Barbara Mary Smith Robinson

September 26, 1931 — December 13, 2024

Barbara (Barb) Smith Robinson, 93, of Manchester, formerly of Vernon, beloved wife of the late Willard Robinson, peacefully passed away in the early morning of Friday, December 13, 2024.
Barb was born on September 26, 1931, in Claymont, Delaware, the daughter of the late John and Mary Smith. Barb graduated from Manchester High School. She worked at Travelers Insurance Company prior to starting her family.
Barb, Mom, Gram, Muzzie, you were the heart and soul of the family. Beautiful inside and out. You made a house a home, welcoming all who entered and made every gathering special, especially the holidays. You were always thinking of others. We will miss your smiles, your laughter, your unconditional love. We were so blessed.
God saw you getting weary. He did what he thought best. He put his arm around you and whispered "Come and rest." The Golden Gate stood open on that heartbreaking day. And with farewell unspoken, you gently slipped away.
Barb is survived by her three children, Gordon (Cheryl) Robinson, Lynn (Clarence) Hellinger and Glenn Robinson; four grandchildren, Nathan Robinson (Jena Kline), Caroline (Lorenz) Prem, Kyle Robinson, Kevin (Jill) Robinson; and five great grandchildren, Lucian, Reece, Guy, Camden and Lenzi.
We will be forever grateful for the amazing Grace Akuamoah, who was her wonderful live in aid for the past two months. She made it possible for mom to enjoy her final days at home. Heather, her hospice nurse and Rrrosemarie, her hospice aide were truly Godsends. Grace, Heather, Rrrosemarie, we cannot thank you enough for always being there for not only our mom, but for the whole family. You were our Angels.
To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in the new year.
There are no calling hours. Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, are in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Foundation care of Beacon Hospice, 111 Foundation Plaza, Ste. 1802, East Hartford, CT 06108
