The soul of Barbara "Edith" Rosimos, 81, most beloved mother, left her body at 2:50 pm on September 20, 2015. She lived at Academy Point in Mystic for the last years of her life.
Barbara was born in Manchester to Charles and Louisa Long and lived most of her life in Manchester and East Hartford. For many years she was employed by the State of Connecticut Energy Department in Hartford.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Rosimos. She is survived by a sister, Betty Wittmann of Vernon, Connecticut and three daughters, Christine Landry of Bradenton, Florida, Kathy Selleck of East Hartford, Connecticut and Cheryl Rosimos of Oakdale, Connecticut. Also by a granddaughter, Carrie Landry of Bradenton, Florida and two grandsons, Robert Landry of Tucson, Arizona (and his sons, Pablo and Eliyah) and David Landry of Murfreesboro, Tennessee (and his sons, Noah and Andrew).
Barbara had many friends at Academy Point, including one very special friend. She loved music and was the resident dancer at her years there. She was an animal lover, most especially owls, and left a huge owl collection.
Cheryl would like to send a special thank you to the caring staff at Academy Point, Vitas Hospice and Vitas Hospice unit at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. A memorial donation may be made to an animal charity of your choice.
