Barbara N. Marble
November 10, 1932 — June 11, 2018
The Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio community lost a staunch supporter on Monday, June 11, 2018. Barbara Nata Marble, born to Paul and Barbara Veninger November 10, 1932, went home to God after battling dementia over the last few years. Barbara is survived by her husband William A. Marble to whom she was married for 57 years and have been residents of Manchester since 1972 when they relocated from Ohio.
She leaves her son Paul W. Marble and daughter-in-law Amy Glidden Marble of Manchester, her son Karl A. Marble and his wife Jennifer Rutkauski Marble of Worcester, MA with her two grandchildren, Charlie and Danny Marble who were always the apple of her eye. She had close lifelong friends Betty Render of Dover, Ohio and Helen Butler of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
She is predeceased by her step-sister Elaine Neal.
Barbara having been an animal lover also leaves "fuzzy kids" and grandkids Moses, Chloe, Callie, Tequila, Midori and Ziggy.
Her favorite place on the planet was a quiet slice of heaven called Gifford Lake in Michigan. She spent many summers there with her family in her youth and shared it with her own family for many years and some day her ashes will be scattered there.
She loved music, especially playing the piano and taught piano lessons to many children. She also had a green thumb and practiced horticulture beautifying her home for many Summers. She always appreciated a good laugh and would be glad to let you know her opinion on any topic.
Her initial calling was to be an elementary school teacher for which she received her degree from Kent State University and taught in Euclid, Ohio until taking an hiatus to be a full-time mother. She later went work as an administrative assistant in real estate and banking eventually working for Travelers Insurance until she retired. In retirement she took time to volunteer at adult day care centers for over ten years.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, CT at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Claflin Hill Symphony, 208 Main Street, Suite 22, Milford, MA 01757. Her family would like to thank the staff at Crestfield Rehabilitation Center and Fenwood Manor for their care and support over the past several years.
