Barbara Ann Leighton

July 2, 1945 — February 1, 2017

Our beloved Barbara Ann (Doggart) Leighton, wife of Russ Irving of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 while in South Carolina.

Barbara was born in Manchester, daughter of the late Robert and Gloria (Willnauer) Doggart, and was raised in Coventry. She graduated from the University of Connecticut and retired from the former Connecticut Bank and Trust Company after a long business career. She then partnered with her husband in their financial consulting business.

She enjoyed traveling during her retirement, especially to her retirement home in Little River, SC where she would enjoy reunions with her best friends of fifty five years, Donna Strattman and Ray Strattman.

With her husband, she leaves behind her sister, Linda Pienkos of New Jersey, and her extended family, Tracy and Ariel Pienkos, and Brian and Stesha Pienkos and their children Evangeline and Bennett. They will all miss their dear aunt, and her friends will miss her loving presence in their lives
.
