Barbara Angela Anderson

Barbara Angela Anderson, 76, passed away peacefully October 17, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Barbara was born November 25, 1941 in Manchester, CT and was a lifelong resident. Barbara will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, she was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. Barbara was employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation for 36 years. She was a member of the Elks P.O. Emblem Club, and was an avid bingo and card player. Along with her brothers, Barbara shared a love of automobiles - a car enthusiast her whole life and Elvis Presley's biggest fan. Barbara was an animal lover at heart, her cats and dogs were like her family. Spending time with her family, friends and her animals were some of her greatest joys in life. Throughout her life she also devoted her time and resources to many animal rescue organizations. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard J. Anderson and Lena Mazzoli Anderson; her brothers, Leonard J. Anderson and David A. Anderson and his wife, Carol; and her nephew Thomas Anderson. Barbara is survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, including Leonard J. Anderson III, Kevin Anderson and her niece, Sharon Torneo and their families. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Crestfield Rehabilitation Center and Fenwood Manor for their loving care. A Memorial Service in Barbara's honor will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester.
